I'm so glad you're here!

No, really - I know you can’t see it but I’m bouncing up and down in my blue office chair right now. Welcome to my own little corner of the internet!

About Me

Who, me? My name is Elizabeth Gray, but please - call me Liz. I’m a self-taught, pastry chef turned artist better known around the internet as @thegraytergood, typically recognized for my modern design work, ultra-detailed journal spreads, and clumsy cat sidekick Emmy. If I’m not in my home office drinking some sort of hot beverage, I’m probably reading a book or trying to scrub the paint off my hands (how did it get there?).

I took a bit of wild leap in 2017 and left my culinary day job to be an Etsy shop owner, which turned into full-time freelance work around 2019. Since then, I’ve grown a social media following of over 700k, created an online class, landed multiple interviews both in print and online, partnered and worked with brands such as Sharpie, OPI, USA Network, Michaels Stores, Archer + Olive, Le Mini Macaron, and TikTok.

All of those projects are just the cherry on top of the fact that I get to create art for a living, which still often feels like a lovely dream. Whether you want to work together on a creative project or need a creative bestie, I’m so happy to welcome you to my little corner of the internet.

My goals with all of my work are:

To understand my clients goals and vision for the project

To find clever solutions to creative problems

To create work that is unique and interesting

To stay true to who I am as a creative

To uplift and support the community I’m interacting with

  • hot steam curling up from that first morning coffee pour

  • a warm cat, snuggled up and purring on the couch

  • watching my nieces and nephews learn new word + discover foods for the first time

  • when a friend knows how I like my coffee /tea

  • my to-be-read stack of paperback

  • the smell of a fresh tube of paint

A few of my favorite things that keep me grounded and focused on loving life:

"I'm so thrilled with the outcome of our mural project! I love seeing people take pictures before they come into the store and simply pull over as they are driving to take photos."
